We also provide a helicopter tour of Everest Base Camp. If you don’t have enough time to trek and hike to Everest Base Camp (5360m), this is a good option. A helicopter trip is a better way to realize your ambition of visiting Mount Everest. The EBC Trek is one of the most popular and well-known trek routes in the world.

Whatever, walking through a jungle of Rhododendron, Pine, and Juniper as we pass through the Sherpa settlement of Namche Bazaar. Many times, you will have to cross a suspension bridge over the Dudh Kosi River. Also, to Hike Everest Base Camp and Kala Pathar Peak, follow the magnificent Khumbu Valley. Then it’s back down to Lukla the same way.

Lukla Flight Information

Flight Information to /from Lukla: Due to the Kathmandu airport overcrowding, Flights to Lukla (Everest Region) depart from Manthali Airport (Ramechhap) for the busiest season. The distance from Kathmandu to Mathali airport is about 130 kilometers. So it takes about 3.5 to 4 hours to drive. We leave Kathmandu at 1 or 1.30 AM to catch our early morning flights from Manthali to Lukla.

Note: The flight will be departing from March 15 to May 15 and October to November. However, it depends on the decision of the airlines and the civil aviation authority of Nepal.

Lukla Flight Delay or Cancellations

The bad weather conditions and over traffic in Kathmandu airports are the main reasons for delaying and canceling flights. The weather in hilly and Himalayan regions will be changed so quickly. So, We at Himalaya Darshan Treks highly recommend managing a minimum of 1 or 2 extra days for your Everest and Dolpo region treks. If you have one or 2 extra days, you can drive from Kathmandu to Tham Danda/Paiya to Kathmandu. It is another option for your EBC Trek.

What is the Lukla Flight Weight limitation?

The airlines have a weight limitation of only 15 kilograms (about 33 pounds) per person so please try to make your luggage less than 15 kilograms. Otherwise, you have to pay extra money but it is only possible if there is no overweight on the plane. So, the best option is to make your bag light

Finally, we highly recommend this 17-day Everest Base Camp Trek for your Everest Adventure. We provide a 14-day and 12 Days Trekking Package. If you’re looking for a short Everest trek, we have 7-day and 5-day Everest View Trekking packages available. Honestly, we provide high-quality service at a low cost. We are delighted to assist you in planning your Everest trek. Feel free to get in touch with us.
