Mani Rimdu Festival Trek

Mani Rimdu Festival Trek offers to observe the most popular festival in Everest Region. Sherpa people celebrate it in Tengboche Monastery, Thame, and Chiwang Monasteries in the Khumbu region. From this Festival Trek, you can fully enjoy seeing the incredible Everest Himalayan panorama. As an illustration Tengboche monastery with a great view of Mt Everest 8848m. In the hope of observing the culture and festivals of the Himalayan region in Nepal.

Mani Rimdu Festival is a sacred ceremony and series of events of empowerment. It is a sequence of nineteen days of celebration which concludes with three days of the public festival. They get time to gather and celebrate this festival with the monastic community. Lamas and Sherpa gather at the monastery for five days for the welfare of the world.

Also, Demons are quelled and the virtuous are rewarded. The monks wear elaborate masks, and costumes and through a series of ritualistic Lama dances, dramatize the triumph of Buddhism over Bon. Likewise, the main first days of the festival involve prayers. Second day for Colorful Lama Dancing. In addition, they wear brocade gowns and wonderfully painted papier-Mache masks. The last day is for some humorous dances and chanting prayers. On the other hand, Hundreds of local people and foreign tourists attend the performance.

Finally, the Mani Rimdu Festival rewards you to see the real and ideal culture of the Sherpa people. It is the great Himalayan panorama of the Everest Himalayan range. Itinerary


Day 1, Arrival in Kathmandu Airport (1,400m) and transfer to hotel

We, Himalaya Darshan Treks heartily welcome you and your group to Nepal. One of our company staff will take you to your hotel in Kathmandu. The person will be waiting outside the baggage hall of the Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu, holding an A4-size paper with your name and our company name. So, you have to look for that person for your pick up from the airport. Your check-in at the hotel.

Day 2, Flight to Lukla (2,840m) and Trek to Phakding (2,610m). Stay at tea house.

Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in the early morning and drive you to the domestic terminal at Kathmandu airport, where you will board a 30-minute flight to Lukla. You will be treated to some of the most breathtaking Himalayan views during the trip. You will be met by your porter, who will carry your luggage after you arrive at Tenzing-Hilary airport. Then your journey begins. Then it’s a short trek to Phakding crossing a beautiful village and the amazing mani wall at upper Ghat.

Day 3, Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m). Stay at tea house.

Our trek begins in the morning with a crossing of the Dudh Kosi River, passing through the charming villages of Toktok, Bhenkar, and Monjo before arriving at the Sagarmatha National Park entrance gate. We then trek for a few hours along the riverbed and cross our final bridge before a steep uphill trek to Namche Bazaar. Namche is home to various excellent restaurants, pubs, a computer café, a post office, and banks.

Day 4, Acclimatization Day.

This is your Excruciation day. After breakfast, you can hike to Everest View Hotel. From there you can enjoy seeing breathtaking views of Mt Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Amadablam. Likewise, many other beautiful mountain peaks in the Everest Himalayan range. You also can enjoy wild animals, birds and many more. You can explore Namche bazaar and enjoy your evening with many restaurants, Bars (Irish Bar), and a shopping center.

Day 5, Trek to Tengboche (3,860m). Stay at tea house.

After breakfast in Namche, we begin our journey to Tengboche, with spectacular views of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and a close-up glimpse of Thamserku. Our walk to Tengboche has a few ups and downs and beautiful Himalayan views. Tengboche is home to the Khumbu region’s largest Buddhist monastery.

Day 6, Enjoy Mani Rimdu Festival. Stay at tea house.

Day 9, Trek to Monju village (2,835m). Stay at tea house

The trail then enters the Dudh Koshi gorge, descending steeply through the pine forests after crossing the prayer flag-draped bridge at Phungitenga. After that heading up to Sanasa, the region’s primary trail junction is reached at the end of the walk. While traveling through the forest, we should look for wild animals such as mountain goats, snow leopards, colorful pheasants, and other species. We arrive at the army camp at Namche Bazaar after passing via Chorten. We stop at Namche bazaar for the lunch, and after that we continue downhill to Monju Village.

Day 10, Trek to Lukla (2,860m).

Over the Dudh Koshi and its tributaries, we traverse multiple suspension bridges. The trail then flattens out and becomes more manageable. Fresh mountain air fills your lungs, preparing you for the journey ahead. When we arrive in Lukla, we stretch our tired legs and reflect on the previous few weeks as we come to the end of our journey, full of great memories and delight, with everyone safe and sound and with a smile on their face!

Day 11, Flight to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

We fly from Lukla to Kathmandu early in the morning after our 7-day trip. When you get to Kathmandu, you can relax or go shopping. This is also a good time to see areas you missed when you first arrived in Kathmandu. Our tour guides will continue to assist you with shopping for souvenirs or sightseeing.

Day 12, Your Final Departure.

This will be the last day of your trip to Nepal. One of our staff will take you and your group to Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu for your final departure. We wish you and your group safe flights with unforgettable memory from your Nepal trip. Hope to see you again.
