Jomsom Muktinath Short Trek

We offer the realistic Jomsom Muktinath Short Trek. It is a wonderful trekking in the Annapurna Conservation Area, located in the western part of Nepal. If you have limited time to visit Nepal, this trek is suitable for you. It will take about 5 to 6 hours of driving to reach Pokhara from Kathmandu. Pokhara is a beautiful tourist city in Nepal. Next morning you will take about a 25-minute scenic flight to Reach Jomsom. It is the gateway of Mustang Trek.

Jomsom Muktinath Short Trek Route

Our Jomsom Muktinath Trek starts towards Kagbeni through the Kaligandaki River valley. Kagbeni is one of the most beautiful Thakali villages. You can enjoy visiting a very old and historical monastery at Kagbeni. On the next morning, you will be heading toward the holy Muktinath Temple.

As well as walking through the Jhong (a beautiful old and historical village). You can fully enjoy incredible mountain views of Mt Dhaulagiri 8,167m, Mt Nilgiri 7,061m, and Tilicho Peak 7,134m. Likewise, great views of the world’s most popular Annapurna Circuit Trekking Trail and amazing views of the Upper Mustang area.

Visit to Muktinath Temple

Especially, Muktinath is the pilgrimage center of Hindus as well as Buddhists. Here, you will see Tibetan traders and sadhus (Holy men) from as far away as the south of India. After all here, you can visit Muktinath Temple, a Holy place of different gods and goddesses.

Itinerary


Day 1, Arrival in Kathmandu Airport (1,400m) and transfer to hotel

We, Himalaya Darshan Treks heartily welcome you and your group to Nepal. One of our company staff will take you to your hotel in Kathmandu. The person will be waiting outside the baggage hall of the Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu, holding an A4-size paper with your name and our company name. So, you have to look for that person for your pick up from the airport. Your check-in at the hotel.

Day 2, Drive to Pokhara, Transfer to hotel.

Early in the morning, we will pick up you from the hotel and drive to Pokhara for about 5/6 hours. The distance between Kathmandu and Pokhara is 200 kilometers. Pokhara is a beautiful tourist city so there are many highlighted places to visit and you can do many tourist activities in Pokhara. It will be before and after your trek.

Day 3, Flight to Jomsom (2,720m), and Trek to Kagbeni (2,810m).

Early in the Morning, we will pick up you from the hotel at Pokhara Airport for the flight to Jomsom. It is about a 25-minute scenic flight. You can see the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri range from the flight. Then, we will trek to Kagbeni for about 3 hours walking through the Kali Gandaki river valley. It is known as a windy valley. Finally, we will reach the Kagbeni. It lies on Kali Gandaki’s river bank. You can visit a very old and historic monastery here.

Day 4, Trek to Muktinath (3,840m)

After Breakfast, we will start our journey to Muktinath. The trail will lead us on a nice walk with the beautiful scenery of the Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri ranges. A great view of Upper Mustang Valley. The trail passes through Jong village. We will stop there for lunch. Then continue to Muktinath.

Day 5, Visit to Muktinath Temple Then drive to Jomsom (2,720m).

Muktinath is a very beautiful place. After late breakfast, we will visit Muktinath Temple. It is a sacred place for Hindus and Buddhists. There is a small and beautiful Bishnu temple made in Pagoda style. Here, you will see Tibetan traders and sadhus (Holy men) from as far away as the south of India. There are 108 sacred water taps, the devotees take a quick bath in this tap for their refreshment. It is the especially best spot for Natural gas spot. Besides that, you can visit many old and historic monasteries too. Muktinath is the best place to see beautiful mountain views. After visiting the Temple we will take a jeep to drive to Jomsom. Enjoy visiting Jomsom, it is the headquarters of the Mustang district.

Day 6, Flight to Pokhara transfer to hotel.

We will fly back to Pokhara and transfer to the hotel. After that, you have free time to visit Pokhara. Sightseeing at Pokhara will be visiting the International Mountain Museum, Boating at Fewa Lake, etc.

Day 7, Drive to Kathmandu transfer to hotel.

Returning to Kathmandu entails a 7-hour trip through the Trisuli River and via numerous towns. You can spend your time relaxing or shopping for souvenirs to take home at Kathmndu.
