After exploring the 3-day Tiji Festival, our journey returns to Tsarang, Syangbochen, Chhusang, and then finally to Jomsom, and fly back to Pokhara.

However, the three days of celebrating the Tiji festival are ritually known as “The Chasing of the Demons.” It is based on mythological legends. During the festival, Tiji tells the story of the immortal “Dorje Jono” who was responsible for fighting against his devil father. After all, he saved the kingdom of Mustang – Lo Manthang.

Upper Mustang

Besides that, the land of the Upper Mustang is very dry and the Demon Father created such a critical situation by creating a water shortage, which made it very difficult to survive. Legend assumes that Dorje Jono used his supreme power against the devastating devil. He banished him from that kingdom which was not possible by any other human being. They celebrate this festival in the spring season, generally in May. Please feel free to get in touch with us.
