Island Peak Climbing
In the Khumbu region, Island Peak Climbing is a famous peak-climbing adventure. At an elevation of 6189 meters, Island Peak or Imja Tse is a somewhat challenging climb, but the sights from the summit are unrivaled by Mount Lhotse, Mount Makalu, or Mount Ama Dablam. Enjoy your hike with the locals through the Trans Himalayas’ most famous towns, and see the most stunning Himalayan ranges from high camp and the top.
We can be a part of this adventure with basic trekking or climbing skills, which will be accompanied by an experienced local Sherpa climbing guide to ensure that your trip is rewarding. During the trips, we will get the opportunity to learn more about the surrounding communities and meet the people who have been farming on the terraces for centuries.
The Summit is reached by the Island Peak Climbing Ridge, which rises to the south from this point. A combination of rock and ice cliffs makes up the most challenging segment.
Island Peak Summit
Island Peak Summit 6,189m, in particular, provides breathtaking views of the Everest Himalayan panorama, Lhotse Glacier, and Glacial Lakes. They are, nevertheless, a worthy reward for your efforts. The cost of Island Peak Climbing varies depending on the service and the number of your group. Generally, various trekking agencies charge different rates.
For your adventurous peak climbing in Nepal, we provide a low-cost package. However, we will hike up the Dudh Kosi Valley from Lukla before climbing Island Peak. We’ll go via Namche Bazaar and Tengboche Monastery on our way to Tengboche. The Everest Base Camp Trek Route led us to Kala Pattar, 5,545 meters above sea level.

Lukla Flight Information
Flight Information to /from Lukla: Due to the Kathmandu airport overcrowding, Flights to Lukla (Everest Region) depart from Ramechhap Airport for the busiest season. The distance from Kathmandu to Mathali airport is about 130 kilometers. So it takes about 3.5 to 4 hours to drive. We leave Kathmandu at 1 or 1.30 AM to catch our early morning flights from Ramechhap to Lukla.
Note: The flight will be departing from March 15 to May 15 and October to November. However, it depends on the decision of the airlines and the civil aviation authority of Nepal.
Lukla flight delays or cancellations
The bad weather conditions and over traffic in Kathmandu airports are the main reasons for delaying and canceling flights. The weather in hilly and Himalayan regions will be changed so quickly. So, We at Himalaya Darshan Treks highly recommend managing a minimum of 1 or 2 extra days for your Everest and Dolpo region treks.
What is the Lukla Flight Weight limitation?
The airlines have a weight limitation of only 15 kilograms (about 33 pounds) per person so please try to make your luggage less than 15 kilograms. Otherwise, you have to pay extra money but it is only possible if there is no overweight on the plane. So, the best option is to make your bag light
