Langtang Gosaikunda Trek

The Langtang Gosaikunda Trek is a well-known trekking route in Nepal. Set out on a beautiful trek with a team of Himalayas to the most attractive areas of central Nepal. The Langtang Gosaikunda Trek will take you on a beautiful adventure through lush green forests and centuries-old towns.

Likewise, unusual and rich ecosystems, and snowy alpine surroundings, culminate in the most breathtaking vista of the central Alps. This trip is also known as the Langtang Circuit Trek. It is a magnificent trek that takes you through Langtang Valley, Gosaikunda Lake, and Helambu Valley.

The Gosaikunda Lake is beautiful. It is a holy lake so thousands of pilgrims visit this lake every year during the (Janai Purnima) full moon festival in August.

Day Hike to Kyanjin Ri or Tsergo Ri

In the Langtang Gosaikunda trek, there is a popular hiking destination (Viewpoints) Kyanjin Ri 4,370m and Tsergo Ri 4,984m. You can start to hike early in the morning to the summit. It takes about 3.5 hours (Up and down) to Kyanjin Ri. Likewise, it takes 7 to 8 hours (up and down) to Tsergo Ri.

You have to take a packed lunch for the Tsergo Ri summit. From the summit, you can fully enjoy seeing an incredible view of Langtang Lirung, Yubra, and Langtang Yubra. Glacier and Glacial lakes. Likewise, Dagpache, Yala Peak 5,500m, and the best view of Langtang Valley and Kyanjin Village.

The Langtang Gosaikunda Trek is a moderate to challenging beautiful trek. The hike to the Kyanjin Ri, Tsergo Ri, and Lauribina La Pass will be Challenging. If there is snow. You can enjoy the incredible Himalayan vistas from Kyanjin Ri, Tsergo Ri, and Chisapani. Itinerary


Day 1, Arrival at Kathmandu Airport (1,400m) and transfer to hotel

We, Himalaya Darshan Treks heartily welcome you and your group to Nepal. One of our company staff will take you to your hotel in Kathmandu. The person will be waiting outside the baggage hall of the Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, holding an A4-size paper with your name and our company name. So, you have to look for that person for your pick up from the airport. Your check-in at the hotel.

Day 2, Drive to Syabrubensi (1,417m) Stay at the guest house

After breakfast, we will drive to Syabru Bensi. about 6/7 hours. (by private vehicle or public vehicle, it depends on your package and your group size) On our way to Syabru Bensi, we’ll spend the day traveling through the breathtaking Himalayan foothills. Stay at the tea house.

Day 3, Trek to Lama Hotel (2,481m). Stay at the tea house.

We’ll spend the day trekking from Syrabu Bensi to Lama Hotel, ascending and descending numerous slopes and valleys along the way.

Day 4, Trek to Langtang Village (3,420m). Stay at the tea house

We’ll hike from the Lama Hotel to Langtang Hamlet via Riverside and Ghora Tabela. From there you can start to see the beautiful Mountain of Langtang Lirung. We will stop at Thyangsyap. We’ll journey through high alpine fields and have the opportunity to visit a local monastery along the way. Stay at the tea house.

Day 5, Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3,870m). Stay at the Tea house.

We’ll continue hiking for 3 hours to Kyanjin Gompa, passing through several tiny settlements, crossing a few streams, and traversing a few moraines. We will see panoramic views of various Himalayan peaks from Kyanjin Gompa. Stay at the tea house.

Day 6, Hiking to Kyanjing Ri (4,370m) or Tsergo Ri (4,984m).

In Kyangjin Gompa, we’ll spend the day acclimating. We can visit the local monastery and cheese factory and climb to a nearby moraine to observe breathtaking icefalls and glaciers. Kyanjin Ri could also be mounted 4,350m. If you like to hike to Tsergo Ri Peak 4,984m, You will have to start early in the morning and need to take packed lunch too.

Day 7, Trek back to Rimche (2,480m). Stay at the tea house.

The day will be spent descending from Kyanjin Gompa to the Rimche (Gavesh View guest house). Same way when we ascend. Stay at the tea house.

Day 8, Trek to Thulo Syabru (2,250m). Stay at the tea house.

We’ll start our walk descending to Bamboo and Pairo then after a few minutes of walking, we will start to ascend to  Thulo Syabru by ascending a modest incline before climbing a more challenging slope and seeing some local fauna along the way. This is a very nice place and good food and accommodations. You will visit the old and historical monastery at Thulo Syabru. Enjoy the great view of the Ganesh Himal range and Sisapangma range (Tibetain Himal) from here.

Day 9, Trek to Cholangpati (3,655m).

We will start our journey to Cholangpati. Today is a pleasant day of the trek. We will follow the newly opened trekking trail. Walking through the nice forest and beautiful village to reach Sherpa cottage. We will stop here for a cup of tea. Then continue our journey to Mulkharka. It is our lunch place.  Today, we will enjoy the view of Ganesh Himal, the Tibetan range, and the Langtang range along the way.  After lunch, walking through a beautiful forest with different sounds of the birds. Then finally reach Cholangpati. Stay at the tea house.

Day 10, Trek to Gosaikunda Lake (4,381m). Stay at the tea house.

We’ll continue our journey ascending to Lauribina (3,920m). We’ll get some fantastic views of the Annapurna range and the surroundings as well. We’ll continue our hike to Buddha Danda 4,100m (Bhajyang). You can enjoy the last mountain view from here for this day. After that, we will continue our journey to Gosainkunda Lake. Stay at the guest house.

Gosaikunda Lake attracts many pilgrims, particularly during the Janai Purnima (full moon day) in August/September. The holy Gosaikunda Lake is revered by Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims alike. In Janaipurnima, Hindus believe that all Hindu deities descend to the lake and that taking a holy dip in it is a way for them to get closer to divinity.

Day 11, Trek to Ghopte (3,430m), Via Lauribina la pass (4,610m).

An early in the morning hike to the top of Lauribina La Pass 4,610 meters. The way to the pass is not so hard. We will stop and enjoy the beautiful view of the beautiful Surje Kunda and the mountains from the summit. After that, the trail leads us to a hard descent into a new valley to reach High Camp, then continue to the Phedi, which will be a lunch stop. After lunch, continue to Ghopte 3,430m.  As the journey leaves the Langtang region and enters the Helambu region. It is a long day of walking.

Day 12, Trek to Kutumsang (2,469m). Stay at the tea house.

We trek upward and downhill through thick trees and old moraine rocks till we reach Thadepati village. From here different ways to Helambu Valley Trek. There are two paths from here, one leading to Melamchi Gaon and the other to Kutumsang. From here, we take the Kutumsang hiking trail, which is a shorter version of the Helambu Valley trip. The trails drop to Mangengoth village and continue to Kutumsang via stunning scenery, Rhododendron trees, and mountains. Stay at the tea house.

Our Langtang gosaikunda trek ends at Kutumsang.

Day 13, Drive to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

After breakfast, we will drive to Kathmandu for about 5/6 hours by local bus. Or drive by private vehicle. It depends on your group size and your trekking package.

Note: If you have enough time (Two extra days) you can continue your journey to Chisapani and you can end your trek at Sundarijal.

Day 14, Final Departure.

This will be the last day of your trip to Nepal. One of our staff will take you and your group to Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu for your final departure. We wish you and your group safe flights with unforgettable memory from your Nepal trip. Hope to see you again.
