Mardi Himal Trek: Go Higher, Get Closer. The Fishtail’s Secret Balcony.
The Mardi Himal Tea House Trek is a new and short trekking trail in the Annapurna Region. It is a quiet, off-the-beaten-path journey that gives hikers a unique chance to get to know the mountains. The path winds through old moss-covered rhododendron forests and narrow ridges that rise high into the sky. In the spring, the flowers turn bright pink and red. This trek is perfect for people who want to get away from the crowds and into a peaceful alpine wilderness while still enjoying the comforts of a traditional Nepalese teahouse trek.
As you climb higher, the scenery changes from lush greenery to rough, high-altitude land, and finally, you reach the base of the famous Machhapuchhre (Fishtail). At 4,500 meters, Mardi Himal Base Camp offers a wonderful 360-degree view of the Annapurna Massif, Dhaulagiri, and Hiunchuli. They look so close that you could almost touch them. This hike is the perfect mix of a physical challenge and a spiritual boost. It takes you to the “Throne of the Gods” quickly, without the weeks-long commitment that is usually needed to see such wonderful views in the Himalayas.

The Mardi Himal Base Camp, 4,500 m, is the highest elevation of the Mardi Himal Trek. The most challenging part of the Mardi Himal Trek is the ascent from High Camp to Mardi Himal Base Camp, which involves walking through rocky trails. You have to spend one night at high camp, 3,580 m. Walking from Forest Camp to Low Camp is a delightful jungle walk.
You can enjoy seeing many different types of trees, including rhododendron. In addition to birdwatching, which includes many different sounds from various types of birds, this experience makes your trek pleasant. Furthermore, the trekking trail is renowned for its wildlife. It is also popular for Mardi Himal Peak climbing.
The cost varies based on your group size and the types of services you choose, such as transportation (either by flight to and from Pokhara or by private vehicle) and the standard of your hotel in Kathmandu. We, Himalaya Darshan Treks, offer two different types of trek packages (full board package and service package). The Mardi Himal Trek costs 2026; we offer USD 450 to 620 per person for a full board. We also provide a cheap and budget-friendly package.

However, one of the most popular options is the route from Pokhara to Pitam Deurali, Low Camp, High Camp, and then to Mardi Himal Base Camp, followed by the descent to Sidhing and driving back via the Pokhara route.
You can do the Mardi Himal Trek throughout the year, but September through December and March through May are the best months to do it. Trekking from March to May, the forest in this area is stunning and colorful, blooming with rhododendron flowers. So, the spring season is the best and most beautiful. You can enjoy your holiday with the colorful rhododendron. The Mardi Himal Trek is one of the best and most beautiful short treks in the Annapurna region.

You can customize your Mardi Himal Trek itinerary according to your holiday time. Normally, 5–9 days are enough to complete this trek from Kathmandu. We will design the itinerary according to your holiday time in Nepal. If you have enough time, you can make your trek longer than 5 days.
