Planning to visit the Everest Base Camp Trek? Do you dream of seeing the tallest peak in the world? We offer the Everest Base Camp Trek 12-day Package to fulfill your dream. The Everest Base Camp Trek Route is one of the most famous and popular in the world. It’s also the most recommended trekking trail.
Many people around the world have dreamed of seeing the world’s highest mountain peak (Mt. Everest, 8,848 m). They aspire to set foot at the base of the world’s tallest peak. Of course, the 12 Days Everest Base Camp Trek package gives you this excellent chance to follow in your footsteps on the base of Mt. Everest, 8,848 m.
The trek to Everest Base Camp goes through Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, and Lobuche, then heads toward Mt. Everest Base Camp at 5,364 m. Likewise, hike to Kala Pathar at 5,545 m, which is one of the best viewpoints to see Mt. Everest right before your eyes. After reaching Kalapathar, your Everest Base Camp trek continues and descends to Lukla. This location is the ending point of your EBC trek.

We offer three different types of trekking packages, so you can choose the one that is most suitable. First, the cost is $1299 per person for the full board package. Second, the cost is $1170 P/P for a full board without a porter. Third, the cost is $965 p/p for only the service package (without porter and food during the trek). We hope it will meet your needs.
The weather and climatic conditions greatly influence the success and overall experience of the Everest Base Camp Trek. The ideal time to embark on this adventure is during the pre-monsoon and post-monsoon seasons.

The Everest Base Camp Trek is considered moderately difficult. While it does not require technical climbing skills or prior mountaineering experience, it does demand a high level of physical fitness and mental determination. Trekkers will encounter steep ascents, rocky trails, and high altitudes, which can be physically and mentally challenging.
The trek can last for about 12–14 days, covering a distance of approximately 130 kilometers (80 miles), with daily walking durations of 5–7 hours. Acclimatization is crucial during the trek to minimize the risk of altitude sickness. Therefore, it is recommended to engage in regular exercise and cardiovascular training before attempting the Everest Base Camp Trek.
Flight Information to/from Lukla: Due to the Kathmandu airport overcrowding, flights to Lukla (Everest Region) depart from Manthali Airport (Ramechhap) during the busiest season. The distance from Kathmandu to Mathali Airport is about 130 kilometers. So it takes about 3.5 to 4 hours to drive. We leave Kathmandu at 1 or 1:30 AM to catch our early morning flight to Lukla.
Note: The flight will be departing from March 15 to May 15 and from October to November. However, it depends on the decision of the airlines and the civil aviation authority of Nepal.
The adverse weather conditions and overtraffic at Kathmandu airports are the main reasons for delaying and canceling flights. The weather in hilly and Himalayan regions will change so quickly. So, we at Himalaya Darshan Treks highly recommend managing a minimum of 1 or 2 extra days for your Everest and Dolpo region treks.

The airlines have a weight limitation of only 15 kilograms (about 33 pounds) per person, so make your luggage less than 15 kilograms. If the plane is not overweight, you can pay extra. So, the best option is to make your bag light.

Flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2,840 m) and trek to Phakding (2,610 m)
Or
Early morning (1 to 2 AM), your guide picks you up from the hotel to go to Manthali/Ramechhap airport by driving for about 4 hours. Then a flight from Ramechhap to Lukla. Then your journey begins. It’s a short trek to Phakding, crossing a beautiful village and the amazing mani wall at Upper Ghat and continuing to Phakding.
Our trek begins in the morning with a crossing of the Dudh Kosi River, passing through the charming villages of Toktok, Bhenkar, and Monjo before arriving at the Sagarmatha National Park entrance gate. We then trek for a few hours along the riverbed and cross our final bridge before a steep uphill trek to Namche Bazaar. Namche is home to various excellent restaurants, pubs, a computer café, a post office, and banks.
This is your Excruciation day. After breakfast, you can hike to Hotel Everest View. From there you can enjoy seeing breathtaking views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Amadablam. Likewise, there are many other beautiful mountain peaks in the Everest Himalayan range. You also can enjoy wild animals, birds, and many more. You can explore Namche Bazaar and enjoy your evening with many restaurants, bars (Irish Bar), and a shopping center.
After breakfast in Namche, we begin our journey to Tengboche, with spectacular views of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and a close-up glimpse of Thamserku. Our walk to Tengboche has a few ups and downs and beautiful Himalayan views. Tengboche is home to the Khumbu region’s largest Buddhist monastery.
The ideal time to see Tengboche’s magnificent monastery is on a clear morning. This is an excellent opportunity to use your camera! We then continue our climb on the top trail, taking advantage of the views to see the ancient monastery, before passing past various Chortens and Mani walls and several tiny settlements to reach Dingboche
After breakfast, any simple trek will take us to Dugla, where we will cross the Khumbu Glacier’s steep moraine. After crossing the glacier, we approach Chupki Lhara along boulder-strewn slopes, passing an array of stones with prayer flags as memorials to mountaineers. We can see Khumbutse, Lingtren, Pumori, Mahalangur Himal, and other major Himalayan peaks from there.
The trail to Gorakshep winds its way across the Khumbu Glacier’s moraine, past the pyramid marker. We soon obtain views of Mt. Pumori, Lingtern, Khumbutse, Nuptse, and the crest of Everest’s North Slope. We hike a short distance to Thangma Riju, where we have a breathtaking 360-degree view of snow-capped mountains.
After a short break and having some lunch at our guest house, we will start our walk to Everest Base Camp at 5,364 m, walking through the glacier. After enormous success in reaching the base camp of Mt. Everest, we will go back to Gorakshep.
Some trekkers don’t like to go to Base Camp and may prefer to stay at the hotel and plan a walk to Kala Pathar to see the spectacular sunset view.
Today is a remarkable day, and it represents the pinnacle of our trip. Early in the morning, Kala Patthar offers stunning views of the new day and the light shining on Mount Everest. Before embarking on our journey, we must be prepared for the dark and chilly conditions (-10 to -14 degrees C). We then return to Gorakshep for breakfast before making our way to Pheriche for a well-earned night’s rest.
The trail then enters the Dudh Koshi gorge, descending steeply through the pine forests after crossing the prayer flag-draped bridge at Phungitenga. After that, heading up to Sanasa, the region’s primary trail junction is reached at the end of the walk. As we traverse the forest, we should be on the lookout for various wild animals, including mountain goats, snow leopards, colorful pheasants, and other species. We arrive at the army camp at Namche Bazaar after passing via Chorten.
The trail begins with a steep fall that requires us to take each step carefully across uneven terrain. Over the Dudh Koshi and its tributaries, we traverse multiple suspension bridges. The trail then flattens out and becomes more manageable. Fresh mountain air fills your lungs, preparing you for the journey ahead. When we arrive in Lukla, we stretch our tired legs and reflect on the previous few weeks as we come to the end of our journey, full of great memories and delight, with everyone safe and sound and with a smile on their face!
We fly from Lukla to Kathmandu early in the morning after our 12-day trip. When you get to Kathmandu, you can relax or go shopping. This is also a good time to see areas you missed when you first arrived in Kathmandu. Our tour guides will continue to assist you with shopping for souvenirs or sightseeing.
NOTE: You will be responsible for covering the costs of your accommodation, food, and other expenses in Kathmandu. If you return back early from the trek because of illness or any other issue. The money you paid has already been spent on transportation, permits, guides’ salaries, hotels in Kathmandu, mountain lodging, food, etc. Therefore, in this case, it is not refundable.

I went for the EBC 12 day’s trip with Gyan in April 2024.
Everything went so smoothly, from the welcoming in Kathmandu, van to airport, beautiful trek and return to the city. Gyan did well take care of me and I enjoyed very much his stories along the way while trekking, our cups of tea together. Everything was well organized; Gyan is a man of his words and of trust! Thanks so much and I hope to be back in few years of a new trip in this beautiful country and mountains!
