“Island Peak Climbing with Himalaya Darshan—Adventure Beyond Everest Base Camp”
Island Peak Climbing is a famous peak-climbing adventure in the Khumbu region. At an elevation of 6189 meters, Island Peak, or Imja Tse, is a somewhat challenging climb, but the sights from the summit are unrivaled by Mount Lhotse, Mount Makalu, or Mount Ama Dablam. Enjoy your hike with the locals through the Trans Himalaya’s most famous towns and take in the stunning Himalayan ranges from the high camp and the summit.
We can participate in this adventure with basic trekking or climbing skills. An experienced local Sherpa climbing guide will accompany us to ensure your trip is rewarding. We will learn about the local communities and meet the farmers who have worked the terraces for centuries.
The summit is reached by the Island Peak Climbing Ridge, which rises to the south from this point. The most challenging segment consists of rock and ice cliffs.

Island Peak Summit (6,189 m), in particular, provides breathtaking views of the Everest Himalayan panorama, Lhotse Glacier, and glacial lakes. They are, nevertheless, a worthy reward for your efforts. The cost of Island Peak climbing varies depending on the service and the number in your group. Generally, various trekking agencies charge different rates.
For your adventurous peak climbing in Nepal, we provide a low-cost package. However, we will hike up the Dudh Kosi Valley from Lukla before climbing Island Peak. We’ll go via Namche Bazaar and Tengboche Monastery on our way to Tengboche. The Everest Base Camp Trek Route led us to Kala Pattar, 5,545 meters above sea level.
Finally, the permit fee depends on the climbing season. In the spring season, the permit fee is more expensive because it is the best mountaineering season. Island Peak Permit Fee stretchers are:-
Flight Information to/from Lukla: Due to the Kathmandu airport overcrowding, flights to Lukla (Everest Region) depart from Ramechhap Airport during the busiest season. The distance from Kathmandu to Mathali Airport is about 130 kilometers. So it takes about 3.5 to 4 hours to drive. We leave Kathmandu at 1 or 1:30 AM to catch our early morning flights from Ramechhap to Lukla.
Note: The flight will be departing from March 15 to May 15 and from October to November. However, it depends on the decision of the airlines and the civil aviation authority of Nepal.
The bad weather conditions and overtraffic at Kathmandu airports are the main reasons for delaying and canceling flights. The weather in hilly and Himalayan regions will change so quickly. So, we at Himalaya Darshan Treks highly recommend managing a minimum of 1 or 2 extra days for your Everest and Dolpo region treks.
The airlines have a weight limitation of only 15 kilograms (about 33 pounds) per person, so please try to make your luggage less than 15 kilograms. If the plane is not overweight, you can pay extra. So, the best option is to make your bag light.

All in all, climbing Island Peak is an exciting adventure that combines stunning Himalayan vistas, technical challenges, cultural immersion, and personal growth. It is a memorable experience that challenges one’s physical and mental limits, leaving climbers with a profound sense of accomplishment and precious memories for a lifetime.
