Bokta Peak Climbing is the most popular climbing peak in the Kanchenjunga region. It lies in Eastern Nepal in the Taplejung district of the Kanchenjunga Conservation Area. Bokto/ Bokta Peak Climbing is a technical and Challenging Climbing peak in Nepal. NMA (Nepal Mountaineering Association) declared the Bokta Peak 6,142m in the group “A” category climbing peak in Nepal.
Especially, Bokta peak climbing with the Kanchenjunga Circuit Trek offers its climbers an interesting journey. Passion, along with varied ecosystems, diverse cultures, and amazing landscapes. Likewise, high passes, waterfalls, wildlife, glaciers, and Glacial lakes. As well as Rivers, beautiful mountain views, and breathtaking views of the Kanchenjunga Himalayan range, including Mt Kanchenjunga, 8,586m, the third-highest mountain in the world.
It is best for those climbers who love mountaineering in less crowded parts of the Himalayas. To do that, you should have good physical fitness and climbing experience for this Peak. Our Bokto/Bokta Peak Climbing journey starts from Chhiruwa. After a scenic flight to Bhadrapur, drive to Kanyam and continue to Chhiruwa. It is also possible to start from Suketar 2,420m, after a scenic flight from Kathmandu.
After that, you are following the Kanchenjunga Circuit Trek Route. It goes through beautiful Limbu and Sherpa Villages to reach Pangpema 5,140m (Kanchenjunga North Base Camp). You can fully enjoy a stunning view of Mt Kanchenjunga’s North Face and many other beautiful mountain peaks.
After that, your trek continues to adventure high passes such as Mirgin La Pass 4820m and Sinelapche La Pass 4645m. With Stunning views, then reach Kanchenjunga South Base Camp (Okhtang 4,810m). As well as continuing to your final destination, Bokta Peak Summit. You can do your trek directly through Kanchenjunga South Base Camp and Bokta Peak Summit at 6,142m. (If you don’t have enough time)

We, Himalaya Darshan Treks heartily welcome you and your group to Nepal. One of our company staff will take you to your hotel in Kathmandu. The person will be waiting outside the baggage hall of the Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu, holding an A4-size paper with your name and our company name. So, you have to look for that person for your pick up from the airport. Your check-in at the hotel.
Flight from Kathmandu to Bhadrapur (45 minutes) and drive to Pauwa Bhanjyang passing through Kanyam and Ilam Bazaar. Explore and enjoy the beautiful view of Mt Kanchenjunga Himalayan range. Stay at the hotel.
Early in the morning, we will start driving to Taplejung (district headquarters). Lunch in Taplejung, then we will change vehicles to drive to Japantar. Then 20 minutes trek to Itari, stay in the teahouse
After hiking for some hours, we arrive at another destination, passing by monasteries and juniper forests till we reach a grassy slope where the tiny village of Amjilosa. The trail lead us Ghunsa river valley. we have to cross some suspension bridge. After crossing last bridge, the trail start to ascending with narrow trail to Amjilosa. Stay at the tea house.
Take a stroll through a bamboo, rhododendron, and oak forest gorge. Have lunch in Thangyam after a 3-hour hike. Continue walking for another 3 hours, leaving the river and climbing steeply to Gyabla, a Sherpa village. There is very nice and comfortable guest house. Stay at guest house.
Take a break after trekking for 3 hours to Folley (3,140m). There are two monasteries in this Tibetan refugee village. we will have lunch at Folley. After lunch, the trail continues into the subalpine forest and Rocky River valley to reach Ghunsa. In this way, You can see the memorial (memorial of helicopter crash people). Ghunsa is a small and beautiful village. The guest houses at Ghunsa provide delicious food and good hospitality from the Ghunsa people. There is a Check post too so you need to present your trekking permit. Stay at the guest house.
Enjoy stunning views of Kumbhakarna (Janu Himal) at 7710m, Ghabur Peak at 6305m, and Pholesobi Peak at 6652m as you trek to Khambachen at 4,145m. The trail ascends through a mixed larch and juniper forest with grazing meadows up the Ghunsa valley. For lunch, travel to Laphuk (4,100m). Then, continue walking for a few hours to Khangbachen. Stay at the tea house.
There are two options for your acclimatization/day hikes-
The first option – After breakfast, hiking to (Kumbhakarna) Janu View Point 4,420m. Enjoy the great view of, glaciers, Glacial lakes as well as Janu Himal just in front of you and many more.
The second option – Early in the morning breakfast at the hotel, You will start your day hikes to Nupchu Pokhari (Lake) through the Nupchu Khola Valley. It is hard walking due to the high altitude but very beautiful and amazing day hike.
Trek to Lhonak via the Ghunsa River, passing through stony fields and gaining 900 meters in elevation. First, you’ll trek for two hours to Ramdang, where you’ll enjoy lunch while taking in the scenery. Then continue the Kanchenjunga Glacier’s lateral moraine. Finally, cross the river into the Lhonak. Stay at the hotel
Early morning hike to Pangpema 5,140m, (Kanchenjunga North Base Camp) Breathtaking views of Mt Kanchenjunga 8,586m, Yalung Kang 8,505m and Stunning view of Kanchenjunga Himalayan panorama, Kanchenjunga glacier, Glacial lakes, wildlife and many more. Trek back to Lhonak.
Note: If you have a dream to hike Dormo Ri (Dormo Peak) you have to stay at the Pangpema. And next early in the morning hike to Dormo ri, enjoy the incredible Kanchenjunga Himalayan panorama then descend to Lhonak.
Trek descend all the way to Ghunsa. Stay at the guest house.
Our hike begins in the direction of Kanchenjunga’s south base camp, walking through a huge forest before the Bhanjyang. Via Sele La Pass, we will continue to reach Sele La Camp 4200 m. With only a very rudimentary tea house at Sele La. In this section of the Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek. Some hikers have seen snow leopards around here. Stay at the teahouse.
Trek to Cheram (3,870m), via Mirgin la Pass, and Sinelapche la Pass with Breathtaking Mountain View. Stay at a tea house.
Trek ascend to Kanchenjunga South Base Camp (4,810m) hike (Enjoy a great view of the Kanchenjunga Himalayan range south face, Kabru range, Rathong peak, and many other beautiful mountains peaks, Yalung glacier, Glacial lake, wildlife). Return to Ramche. Stay at a tea house.
Early Morning hike to Okhtang (Kanchenjunga Viewpoint) and back to Ramche. Today is a relaxation day and preparation for the ascension in Ramche. And you can take a leisurely tour of this charming place. Stay at the tea house.
Stay in the Camping, trekking to base camp, high camp, and Bhokta Peak Summit. Enjoy the views from the summit. and trek descends to Cheram. Stay at a teahouse
About 3.5 hours of walking through the beautiful forest (if trekking through April or May, it will be colorful by rhododendron blooms) we will reach Tortong. Stop for lunch, after lunch and little rest, we will start to climb uphill through the nice jungle. Enjoying seeing many birds and wildlife. To reach Bhanjyang (Little Pass), then our trek will short descend and flat walking then finally reach to Jhoreni. Stay at nice teahouse. If trekking through April or May it is best place to see rhododendron flower.
After breakfast, we will continue trekking for about 2 hours to reach Amji Khola. Then continue to the narrow trail, passing through Yak Kharka to reach Sherpa gaun. It is a small and beautiful village. Today is the last day of your trek. Stay at a normal teahouse.
We will take a Jeep to drive to Ilam Bazaar. It will be hard to reach Ganesh Chock. Then a nice and easy drive to reach Ilam Bazaar. Stay at the hotel.
Early morning, a short drive to Bhadrapur from Ilam. Then, we fly back to Kathmandu on a 45-minute scenic flight, with our final views of the spectacular snow-capped Himalayas. Kanchenjunga Region Treks will return you to your accommodation and will pick you up this evening for a goodbye meal with a cultural performance at a Nepalese restaurant.
This will be the last day of your trip to Nepal. One of our staff will take you and your group to Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu for your final departure. We wish you and your group safe flights with unforgettable memory from your Nepal trip. Hope to see you again.
