Yes, Nepal is open for travel and trekking; we inform travellers about the recent natural disaster (Flash Floods). Not all regions have the same conditions. The recent catastrophic floods and landslides have caused significant damage in parts of northern Nepal, particularly around Rasuwa and the Langtang access corridor. Roads, bridges and local infrastructure have been damaged. So trekking through the normal route is closed. But the other trekking regions and trek routes are in normal condition and safe to travel.
Nepal Travel Update: Other Trekking Areas in Nepal
The recent disaster has been mainly concentrated in the Rasuwa and northern border areas, rather than over the whole country. Major trekking destinations such as Everest, Annapurna, and Manaslu. Likewise, Kanchenjunga, Makalu, Lower Solukhumbu, Dolpo region and other Himalayan regions are safe and open for trekking and hiking under normal conditions.

Important Update: Langtang Valley and Gosaikunda Trek
The classic Langtang Valley trek through Syabrubesi is now closed and unsafe. The recent floods have caused substantial damage to the Syabrubesi area and access infrastructure. Several bridges and sections of the road corridor have been affected, making normal access and some trail connections difficult or unsafe until reconstruction and safety inspections are completed.
For trekkers who are planning the Langtang Valley and Gosaikunda Trek, an alternative anti-clockwise itinerary can be used.
Use the southern approach through Sundarijal – Kutumsang toward Gosaikunda, then continue toward Thulo Syabru and the Langtang Valley and then trek back the same way, subject to current trail and road clearance.
