Ghorepani Poonhill Trek

The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is one of Nepal’s most popular short treks, suitable for both beginners and seasoned trekkers. Nestled in the breathtaking Annapurna Conservation Area, this journey offers spectacular Himalayan views, charming Gurung villages, and vibrant rhododendron forests — all in under a week.

Typically, a Trek to Ghorepani Poon Hill begins in Birethanti, following a one-and-a-half-hour drive from Pokhara. Then continue walking to Ulleri. The next day, to Ghorepani at 2,860m and early in the morning, we hike to Poonhill with an elevation of 3,210 meters. Ghorepani Trek is very short as well as easy. This trek is flexible on your time and best for your Family Trek.

Itinerary


Day 1, Arrival in Kathmandu Airport (1,350m) and transfer to hotel

We, Himalaya Darshan Treks heartily welcome you and your group to Nepal. One of our company staff will take you to your hotel in Kathmandu. The person will be waiting outside the baggage hall of the Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu, holding an A4-size paper with your name and our company name. So, you have to look for that person for your pick up from the airport. Your check-in at the hotel.

Day 2, Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara by tourist bus. Transfer to hotel

After breakfast, we will drive to Pokhara for about 5/6 hours. The distance between Kathmandu and Pokhara is 200 kilometers. Your transfer to the hotel.

Day 3, Drive to Birethanti(1,025m), Trek to Ulleri (1,960m).

After breakfast in Pokhara, We will drive to Birethanti through the highway to Beni Baglung, by Taxi/Car (It depends on your group size). You will check in at Annapurna Conservation Entry Point. then continue your trek to Tikhedhunga. Stop for the lunch, after lunch trek ascend to reach Ulleri Village. You can enjoy the beautiful mountain view of Annapurna south and Hiuchuli from here. Stay at a teahouse.

Day 4, Trek to Ghorepani (2,860m).

After breakfast, we will start our second-day trekking. we are walking through a very lovely jungle (rhododendron forest). Trekking from March to May month is very colorful blooming by rhododendron. We will continue to Nayathanti passing through Banthanti and stop for lunch. After lunch, continue our journey to Ghorepani 2,860m. It is a very nice and famous place for the short trek in Annapurna. We will stay at a beautiful hotel and have delicious food at Ghorepani.

Day 5, Hike to Poonhill (3,210m) and Trek to Tadapani (2,610m).

Early morning Hike to Poonhill (3,210m) (enjoy incredible mountain views of Manaslu, Annapurna, and Dhaulagiri Himalayan range. Likewise, Nilgiri north and south, Tukuche peak, Sunrise view, Green valley, and much more). Trek to Tadapani (2,610m). From the Tadapani also you can enjoy beautiful mountain and surrounding view.

Day 6, Trek back to Ghandruk (1,940m). and drive to Pokhara

Trek descends to Ghandruk through nice jungle walking. We will have lunch at Ghandruk. You can visit and look around Ghandruk village before or after lunch. Then we will drive to Pokhara and transfer to your hotel. You can enjoy your holiday in Pokhara.

Day 7, Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu by Tourist bus.

Returning to Kathmandu entails a 7-hour trip through the Trisuli River and via numerous towns. You can spend your time relaxing or shopping for souvenirs to take home. In the evening, we will offer a goodbye dinner with cultural dance performances in a traditional restaurant to memorate your incredible journey.
