Helambu Valley Trek

Hikers love the Helambu Valley Trek for its beautiful scenery and pleasant climate. It’s in Langtang National Park, around 72 kilometers northeast of Kathmandu. It stretches from north of Taragmarang to the Gosainkunda Lake’s tree line. It also encompasses the lower slopes of the Jugal Himal.

We will pass through various highland Tamang and Sherpa communities on the Helambu Circuit Trek. On both sides of the Melamchi Khola, scattered.

Trekking in Nepal varies depending on the client’s preferences. We will customize your itinerary based on your vacation time in Nepal. In addition to the package options, we offer treks lasting 5 days and 7 days, including the Helambu Circuit Trek in our itinerary. 

Mainly, this trek is known for its pine trees, slow-moving rivers, and fast-moving mountain streams. Rugged rock, too, with a breathtaking vista of snow-capped high peaks. Daisies and wild primroses abound among the grassy downs and meadows.

Helambu Family Trek

This is a list of Nepal trekking routes that are short and easy. The altitudes are lower, ranging from 800 meters to 3,600 meters. As a result, it’ll be ideal for your Family Trek (trekking with children and the elderly).

It provides fewer climbing opportunities as well as warmer temperatures. The most significant advantage of the Helambu Valley Trek is that it is less crowded and noise-free.

Hike to Aama Yangri Peak

We can day hike to Aama Yangri Peak, 3,780 m, from Tarke Ghyang. It is a beautiful, holy peak in this region. Ama Yangri Peak is best for stunning mountain views. You can enjoy the scenic beauty of mountains like Mt. Dorje Lakpa Peak, Mt. Gauri Shankar, and Mt. Ganesh Himal. Snow, green valleys, and rivers cover Mt. Jugal Himal, Mt. Yangri, and many other peaks.

Itinerary

Day 1, Arrival in Kathmandu Airport (1,400m)

We, Himalaya Darshan Treks, heartily welcome you and your group to Nepal. One of our company staff will take you to your hotel in Kathmandu. The person will be waiting outside the baggage hall of the Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu, holding an A4-size paper with your name and our company name. So, you have to look for that person for your pickup from the airport. Your check-in at the hotel.

Day 2, Drive to Sundarijal and Trek to Chisopani (2,170m).

After a short drive (about one hour) to Sundarijal, we will start our trekking through Mulkharka. It was reached through a difficult one-hour climb. The trail to Chisopani steadies and undulates after Mulkharka. Chisopani offers distant and modest but panoramic views of Nepal’s Himalayan mountains. Stay at the guest house.

Day 3, Trek to Kutumsang (2,475m)

The trail now descends to Pati Bhanjyang before beginning a lengthy, steep ascent to Gul Bhanjyang. Another descent is followed by a rise that eventually transforms into a pleasant stroll near Kutumsang. Stay at the guest house.

Day 4, Trek to Thadepati (3,700m)

A long, steep ascent leads almost all the way to Thadepati from Kutumsang. At Mangen Goth, there are a handful of forest huts, after which the ascent continues until it reaches Thadepati. Situated on a ridge, this location offers spectacular panoramic views. It also serves as a junction for paths to Gosaikunda and the Helambu Valley. Stay at the guest house.

Day 5, Trek to Tarkeghyang (2,600m)

Looking down into the valley from Thadepati, the walk begins to descend the valley and eventually reaches Melamchi Gaon. The descent continues until Melamchi Khola, when it becomes a steep rise to Tarkeghyang. On the Helambu Circuit Trek, Tarkeghyang is the largest settlement. Stay at the guest house.

Day 6, Trek to Shermathang (2,600m)

Next, there is a relatively simple terrain that passes by minor rivers flowing through forests before reaching Shermathang. Stay at the guest house.

Day 7, Trek to Melamchi Pul Bazaar (850m) and drive to Kathmandu

Most of the day, the hike descends in elevation and goes through terraced fields. The day and the journey come to a close at Melamchi Bazaar after passing through several villages inhabited by various ethnic groups. Next, we will drive to Kathmandu. Transfer to hotel

What is included in this package?

  • A private vehicle will pick you up and drop you off at the airport.
  •  The package includes a 2-night hotel stay in Kathmandu, complete with bed and breakfast.
  •  Accommodation and 3 meals during the trek (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and a cup of tea/coffee with a meal).
  • Seasonal fresh fruits after the dinner during the trek.
  •  Ground transportation is provided in a shared vehicle from Kathmandu to Sundarijal and from Melamchipul to Kathmandu.
  •  The guide’s salary, food, accommodation, and insurance are included.
  •  All government and local taxes are included in the package.
  • Langtang National Park entry permit
  •  TIMS card (Trekkers Information Management System).
  • First Aid medical kit and an Oximeter to check pulse, heart rate, and oxygen saturation at higher altitude
  • We will arrange a Duffel bag, Sleeping bag, Down Jacket, and warm hat (If you don’t have your own.)

What is excluded in this package?

  • Extra night accommodation in Kathmandu is available beyond the scheduled itinerary.
  • Lunch and dinner in Kathmandu.
  • Personal expenses (Laundry, bar bills, battery recharge, WIFI, bottle or boiled water, hot shower, etc.)
  •  Your travel insurance.
  • Tips for guide and Porter (Tips are expected)
  • Nepal entry visa fees (USD 30 for 15 days / USD 50 for 30 Days)
  • Desserts: Sweet things like chocolate, cake, pie, pudding, etc.
  • Any other expenses that are not mentioned in the cost are included.

Optional Choice:

  • Porter: $120 for 6 days (One porter for two trekkers)

NOTE: You will be responsible for covering the costs of your accommodation, food, and other expenses in Kathmandu. If you return early from the trek due to illness or any other issue, the money you paid is not refundable.  The money you paid has already been spent on transportation, permits, guides’ salaries, hotels in Kathmandu, mountain lodging, food, etc.
