By Flight: If you would rather not drive, you can also fly from Kathmandu to Phaplu to Kathmandu and then drive to Pattale Danda.

Itinerary


Day 1, Arrival at Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

We, Himalaya Darshan Treks, heartily welcome you and your group to Nepal. One of our company staff will take you to your hotel in Kathmandu. The person will be waiting outside the baggage hall of the Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu, holding an A4-size paper with your name and our company name. So, you have to look for that person for your pickup from the airport.  Your check-in at the hotel.

Day 2, Drive to Patale Bazaar (2,840m). Stay at the tea house.

We’ll leave Kathmandu early in the morning. On the scenic drive, the road leads us to pass through many beautiful places. The road condition is excellent; drive through Banepa, Khurkot, and Okhaldhunga, and finally reach Patale Bazaar. The distance from Kathmandu to Patale is about 250 kilometers. We drive through the BP highway, following the Sunkoshi river valley, and ascend a hill from Ghurmi and then a twisting road to Patale Bazaar at 2,840 m. It is a lovely and beautiful place. Stay at the tea house.

Day 3, Hike to Patale Danda (2,965m) Viewpoint

Early in the morning, we will hike to Patale Danda 2,965 m (Patale viewpoint). It takes about 45 minutes to reach there. It is one of the best and most suitable viewpoints to see Mount Everest from a short hike. You can enjoy the breathtaking views of Mt. Everest at 8,848 m, Mt. Lhotse at 8,516 m, Mt. Makalu at 8,463 m, and Mt. Kanchenjunga at 8,586 m. Besides that, there are Numbur Himal, Mera Peak, Thamserku, Nuptse, and many other beautiful snowcapped mountains.

Patale Danda is also best to see the sunrise view, Green Valley, and forest (the area is very colorful from March to May months due to the rhododendron flower). After enjoying the view, we will go back to our tea house, and we will have lunch. You can visit the Patale bazaar and purchase local goods during your free time after lunch.

Day 4, Drive back to Kathmandu.

Early in the morning, we will start to drive the same road back to Kathmandu. We will stop at Khurkot Bazaar for lunch and then continue the drive to Kathmandu.

Note: If you don’t like long drives again, you can take a short drive to Phaplu for about 1 hour. Then you can fly to Kathmandu from Phaplu.
