Makalu Base Camp Trek

We have just completed a 15-day tea house trek from Tumlingtar to the Makalu Base camp trek in the Eastern part of Nepal with Gyan Katuwal as our Guide. We were four people between 52 and 62 years. Gyan speaks English and ensured that we were well hosted in each tea house. He has a strong sense of responsibility towards our group and supports each person individually. We experienced his support, particularly during difficult crossings of landslide areas between Dobate and Yangle Kharka. In this area, due to heavy rain during the monsoon season of 2017, the natural barrier of a glacier lake was broken and a huge water and mud avalanche had flushed away parts of the path.
